Bonfire for a Bon Voyage

In one year, the Chans have become great neighbors, close friends, durian disciples, our children's soul mates.

It was heart-wrenching to realize that they were going to have to leave Penang to return to Toronto in less than a month!

But Harold had the bright idea to have a bonfire on the beach...

So here are some pictures in celebration of the numerous stop-motion Ninja Games, Wii Playoffs, giggles and sentences completed by each other and other mind-reading communication among our kids...

Elim's Birthday Party

Playing Ninja at the Wet Market.

Wii Time!

Ian: "Look into the fire...! Elim! ELIM! You're not staring at the fire!!!"
Elim: "I don't want to."
Ian: "ok."

Marshmallow time :)

Elim: "....ah, couldn't we just stay here forever?
Ian: "Why? To feed the mosquitoes?!!"

"Wait for it... wait for it!" <all running away and shrieking> "Aaargh! It's the killer wave of DEATH!"

"Yes, yes--we are now ready for a picture..."

"Uhhh, yokay--the KILLER wave of DEATH got us all, so now we have to lie in our pretend coffins."

Chillaxing. 'nuff said.

Thanks for being you.
