Ipoh--Lost World of Tambun

I skipped these hot springs because I am allergic to Sulfur. But they are certainly pretty.

Ian was compelled to strike poses for the camera once he realized I was taking pictures.

These raccoons were so tame and gentle that it was a delight to reach up and grasp their soft cool hands!

The park was set against really nice limestone towers and dense vegetation which provided a very primal feel.

Ian and Aria spent a surprisingly long time driving around the Swan Lake.

The tiger show was impressive, especially with the tiger scaling the large trunk for a snack of raw chicken.

I could have skipped being splattered with raw chicken juice when the trainers pulled back to hurl raw chicken at the tigers...

While Ian and Aria were cruising Swan Lake, I really enjoyed feeding the Koi with leftover fish feed caught in cracks between floorboards.

Even this peacock came to visit.

Eventually, I found the boldness to catch a Koi by hand anf posed with it.

Ipoh--Indulgence

There is a lovely gem in Ipoh in the form of Indulgence. The chef here cut her teeth preparing first class meals in an Airline Kitchen.

Her craft is exquisite, and very welcome in this sleepy town.

The restaurant and boutique hotel occupies a restored colonial bungalow.

Thank you Aunty Hellen for making the time to welcome us to Ipoh, and such a lavish treat!

Ian took a risk and scored with a harmonious execution of Crabmeat on Squidink Pasta.

Here, you see him contemplating and analyzing his meal.

While a bit clumsy on the adjectives, he was spot on detecting and describing his dish.

The delighful conversation had to make way for serious dining lest the food go cold!

I think we earned Aria's vote.

Especially when it came time for dessert.

Aunty Hellen really hung the moon when she suggested that she take Ian and Aria to peruse the dessert case upfront, and returned with more than 1 choice each, but an entire selection!
