The school had assigned an iPad1 to the Admissions Department, and I had not learned to utilize it yet. I spent some time asking around to discover how my colleagues used their iPads.
To my disappointment, most of them used theirs for games... I was looking for a legitimate use of the machine! Finally, I received counsel that the iPad was excellent at presentations, so I learned to prepare images on MS Word and convert them to PDFs for the iPad to read like a book.
Official use checked off, I proceeded to explore the massive world that is iPad Entertainment! I had heard many principals wax lyrical of how the iPad was amazing at Edutainment. I soon found out why--I found a very cute logic game called "Cut the Rope". It is a simple premise of collecting stars for points while trying to feed a very cute green monster candy. In doing so, you are learning about sequence, logic and timing, but don't tell the kids that they are learning anything of value--they spend hours on it!
