Christina and Stephen in Penang--2 Balik Pulau Crawl, New Year's day

We brought Stephen to our favorite spots in Balik Pulau on New Year's Day, beginning with our best example of Laksa.

He bravely tried both, but was a bit intimidated by the fierce fishiness of the Assam Laksa. So we proceeded to Eryna Cafe next.

 Stephen and Chris both really liked the quaint fishing village beside the cafe.

And had no complaints quaffing the fish curry. In fact, they might have over-eaten at this stop :)

On the way back, we paused at the beach at Batu Ferringhi to look at the tourists roasting themselves in the sun while the locals hid in the shade.

Finally, we ended our day at Viva Stalls with a lighter meal of Teochew Fish Porridge and CharKway Teow.
