So we took the family down to Straits Quay to take some pictures and do some last minute shopping.
We were expecting to have to wade through crowds, after hearing horror stories about traffic backing up in town.
But to our surprise, no one was milling around the tree, and there was no throng to push through!
The tree was actually very pretty.
Because the scene was so chill during mid-day we made the most of the photo-opportunity and allowed the kids to play at the fountain.
Meanwhile Monica scoured the area for last minute stocking stuffers and good deals.
It was rather odd to be celebrating Christmas in tropical heat!
But at least the malls did not pound us with Christmas Music for a month. They only began playing their Christmas Tunes about a week here.
We went home to look for some Christmas Movies to watch...
...and allowed to open their 1 gift before Christmas.
Aria went right to work and tore through to see what she got.
Ian, however, chose to take a more exploratory approach and investigated all his packages before settling on one to check out.
The kids played with their new toys oblivious to the world for the next hour.
We had to pause for some milk and cookies...
And then Monica found some good Christmas movies to set the mood.
Even Mochi enjoyed the scene on the Christmas runner.
