We decided to try a fishing trip together as families in the evening, and approached the resort watersports center for advice.
We emphasized that we were after numerous smaller fish, not the elusive trophy.

The boatman delivered by motoring us out of the protected marine waters just 15 minutes out, then drifting downwind across a vast patch of sand and coral.
Meanwhile, we entertained ourselves! Who knew a slimy cuttlefish could be so, uh fun!
Uh, I don't feel so well, I think I am catching a cold!
No, we didn't catch these baby turtles! They were collected from the hatchery nearby, and were about to be released to the ocean! They certainly entertained us.

I'm soooo hungry I can eat you raw!!!

We caught so many fish we began to get picky, and started throwing back the smaller ones until our boatman indicated that he wanted some for his family!
That evening, we went back with 21 fish (about 6-7 kgs), and on the advice of the boatman, asked the cooks at our resort to cook them. And for just RM75, we got them fried, grilled and steamed!
We drew quite a bit of attention from tables around us. Many of them threw envious glances. We just ordered some steamed rice and vegetables to go with our fish meal.
Soon, we were a bit over-dosed on protein. But we had to 'respect the food'
So we did. And left a massive pile of bones and just a few heads and scraps.
