Waiting for our Air Asia flight to be called--we arrived way too early since there was no traffic on the way to the airport.
When we arrived, it took a while to find uncle Heng, who flew up to meet up specially to take us around! Thanks, uncle Heng!!!who said that the airport is not easy to establish meeting points for passengers to find their party.
We decided to have dinner first, since it was late and we were hungry. Our first meal with my uncle Heng was in a secluded neighborhood that was off the beaten track for tourists.
Home made fishball with glassy mungbean noodles. A very mild dish.
'Nam prik'--assorted blached vegetables, pork rinds and duck egg with a roasted green chili dip--similar in flavor and intensity as roasted New Mexican Hatch Chili.
Marinated fried chicken pieces. Another very mild dish for Aria.
Green Curry. Outstanding! Ian was in love with this one.
'Nam Prik' with River Prawn. This one tasted a lot like 'ceviche' to me.
Aria could not get enough of her steamed Thai Hillside sticky rice, which had a mottled purple hue!
It was late, we were tired. Uncle Heng thought he had missed picking us up when in fact the flight was delayed taking off by almost an hour! But the food and company were awesome!
Another obscure restaurants serving local golfers that we tourists would otherwise not be able to find!
