Bangkok--Skytrain to Siam Central

What used to take 2-4 hours to go a few kilometers during rush hour is now a comfortable 8 minute walk to the Skytrain Station, then a 20 minute ride to Siam Central.

But first, every trip had to begin and end with the obligatory spin around the revolving door. Actually, it began with many spins--our kids thought it was as cool as a merry-go-round! So we had to restrict the spins and speed at which they tore through it.

We found this pancake street cart beside the 7-11 just minutes on our walk towards the Skytrain Station.

The Oasis Food Court is at the basement at the foot of the train station stairs. It served really delicious examples of Thai Food in an air-conditioned food court. We bought food from it mid-morning and late lunch because the lunch rush was intense!

We couldn't get enough of the Beef Noodles!

Here we have Som Tham (spicy, tangy green papaya salad).

Above the food court is an office building. In its lobby, there are several Koi Ponds stocked with way too many fish that were huge--some were about 2 feet long!

After numerous diversions, we finally made it to the Sky Train Station.

We were grateful to have signs in English!

At Siam Central, there is an aquarium in the basement. This is their Stringray Mascot escorted by a Mermaid of course!

This is the Paragon Mall's Master Directory. A vast expanse of opulent luxuries.

Since we could not afford many of the luxuries, we treated ourselves to...

Yes, I do believe we like Haagen Daaz in its many flavors!

Back on the ground floor, Aria emplored us to stop to watch the 'fashion show' that featured watches.

Aria also noticed that the clothes were frumpy...

People were backing up at the turnstiles because there was a glitch in the system--a policeman was manually collecting the cards and letting commuters through a gate.

The largest coke bottle ever?

Making the most of a brief technology break between train stops.

Juxtaposition of traditional and modern...

One of many incomplete luxury sky scrapers in the city.

It had fascinating classical Greco-Roman accents.
