Hanging Out with Our New Neighbors

Our new neighbors are colleagues from school. The Chans were dorm parents last year, but chose to move off campus and teach at school this year. They are Canadians who have lived in Vancouver and Toronto.

They invited us out to go shopping with them at the Straits Quay (pronounced "key)--a new and swanky shopping strip along the coast just 5 minutes away from our condo. after walking the weekend bazaar we stopped for a frozen yoghurt. Their boys seemed to really get along with our 2 kiddos, so we continued hanging out!

We went upstairs and discovered that Charlie Brown spoke Malay! This was one of the few Theme Restaurants in Malaysia. We didn't eat there, but heard that it was pricey, the food was mediocre, which is a euphemism in Penang for it was lousy! But hey, the photo turned out well!

Soon, we got thirsty and retreated to our local Wal-Mart equivalent (TESCO) for drinks and a snack since it was way past lunch time!
