A New Kitten for a New Beginning

Still mourning the recent death of our first kitten adopted in Malaysia ("Kaya"), and missing an opportunity to adopt a kitten found at school (white with gray smudges and blue eyes), Monica suggested that we interact with the kittens we've seen while having breakfast at the Hillside Hawker Center.

The mother still had two kittens, one was in much better condition than the other. The mother was very alert and protective, but did not protest when we interacted with her kittens.

Soon, we decided to try one of them and brought them up the hill. She was wide-eyed and very nervous but did not protest until we entered our apartment.

Then, she started screaming like she was dying! This is a very communicative and talkative kitten. She reminds us of "Keiki"!

The deal is that we will keep her for a few days, hoping that she will calm down enough to enjoy her, otherwise we would have to return her to mama!
So, we were thrilled to discover that after a difficult start, "Mochi" has adjusted to being away from mama and sibling and taken to us. We brought her to the vet immediately to minimize risk of her contracting a deadly disease (which we believe caused "Kaya"'s untimely death)
