Dinner at Figo's

After much buzz about the place, and despite the concern that the venue was a bit confused about what is specialized in cooking (can you really pull off Tex-Mex, Portuguese, Italian and Cajun all under one roof?!!), we decided to depart from the local food and try Figo's! We weren't disappointed.

Aria was hungry for a burger, and this almost 1/2 pound behemoth arrived with just the right amount of sear/juiciness and seasonings. The home fries were good and the salad was crisp.

I ordered a Beer Battered Fish and Chips. The fish was moist and flaky, perfectly cooked and not pungent at all. I could have eaten loads more. I asked the proprietor for some vinegar--a request he graciously accommodated with malt vinegar in a dish.

Ian was hungry for ribs, and this sweet glazed rack of ribs was colossal, tasty and moist. Not the best I've had, but a welcome and delightful discovery here in Penang!

Finally, Monica was hungry for Mexican. She ordered chimichangas, but what came out looked more like Quesadillas as we know it. It was tasty, and we would order it again. It was merely surprising.
